Workshop on "Sound" at Science Centre - Tinkerer's Lab

Sound Automata

On 2nd of March, 18 of our students from 2E3 and 2E4 went to the Tinkerer's Lab at Singapore Science Centre. They tried to make sound from "reused" materials. For once, the students can be making noises and yet still have fun.

Visit to Newater Treatment Plant

The visit to the Newater Treatment Plant was part of the Learning Journey Trip for the Sec 2 students. Here, the students learn how waste water are being processed and recycled.

Cluster Science Camp

W4 Cluster organised a Science Camp. On the 7th June, we set out to St John Island to visit the Tropical Marine Science Institute.

Carnival Week

Science Department held it activity, the Paper Rocket Competition on Wednesday 20th July. Students enjoyed the event as they could design their rockets and after that send them flying far far away.

 
   
Ngee Ann Polytechnic Celosia Competition  

Celosia Competition

A group of Sec 2 students took up the challenge to grow the plant to see if it can grow tall and have plenty of flowers. The students did well under the guidance of Mrs Chan Tee Tee.

Ideas-In-Action Ultimate Recycle Project in Every Home Exhibition

 

Idea-In-Action 2005

Our school's project, the "Ultimate Recycling Process in Every Home" was awarded $600 by CitiBank to carry out the research.Team members, Benjamin Ong, Kumareswari, Germaine Goh and Jerald Lie (right) from 3E5 represented our school at the Exhibition at the Singapore Expo In September. We must also thank Mrs Chan Tee Tee, Mrs Sia Ee Cheng and Mr Subair for their guidance.

Solar Racer Workshop Cum Competition by Ngee Ann Polytechnic

Solar Racer Workshop Cum Competition

On the 5th and 6th of September, several of our Sec 2 and Sec 3 students attended the Solar racer Workshop cum Competition organised by Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The students learned how to solder and to fix the circuit board on to their racer. The next day, a competition was held to see how well the students could steer their racers about. The students enjoyed every moment of it.

This event was held at Dunman Secondary. Our school submitted 2 entries, namely; Priscilla Ng of 2E3 and Jeremy Liu of 2E4. Jeremy Liu of 2E4 managed to make it into the finals.

Waste Recycling Competition 2005

       

Waste Recycling Competition

Our school adopted a whole school approach towards the practise of 3R. Our effort was recognised by the National Environment Agency. Our school came in second, achieving the Silver Award as well as the Best Newcomer Award. We got 2 trophies and $1000.

Singapore Memory Championship 2005

Sembawang Greenwave Project Competition 2005

Abdul Hakim and Peck Jia Jie of 2E3 submitted a project called "Portable Solar Charger" together with the help of a mentor, Daniel Perh of NUS. The project won Second Prize and $4000.
