Upcoming events
The department conducted an Overseas Field Trip to Kyushu, Japan in December 2008 last year. Students went on a learning journey to discover and experience for themselves how subjects like History and Geography come alive. We intended to do a similar trip this year in 2009, but due to the H1N1 situation, it was postponed. We will be ooking into organizing another one in 2010. Tune in for more details!
Local fieldtrips to NEWater plant, Tuas Marine Transfer as well as the Tuas Incineration Plant in Jurong will be organized for the Lower Secondary pupils in a new and exciting module called the Geo-Science Module, which combines elements of both Geography and Science.
Current Events: Every year the Humanities Department organises exciting overseas and local fieldtrips.
Pupils get to discover first hand what they have learnt in their lessons. There is nothing more exciting than seeing for yourself how activities are actually conducted or be at the place where an important event actually took place!
Fieldtrips in 2007
In the month of June, several trips were conducted to provide learning opportunities for the Upper Secondary pupils. The pupils had a memorable experience in Kyushu, Japan, where they were exposed to the Japanese culture and had a hands-on learning experience as they interacted with people who had gone through wars as well as the Minamata Mercury Food Poisoning incident.
Photos will be uploaded soon!
