Study Trip to Australia 07
A School Cluster W4 project, Bt View Secondary organized a study trip to Australia to learn more about design education. Six out of the ten teachers who went to four institution of higher learning in Sydney and Canberra on the 5 days trip (10 to 14 Dec 07) came from our school. The other two schools are Hua Yi and Yuan Ching Secondary Schools.
The objectives of the trip is to: • To enhance the professional knowledge and skills of teachers i.e., capacity building to develop an environment conducive for digital media design; • To enable teachers to leverage on the knowledge gained on this trip for curriculum customisation,so as to better promote the subject and to engage students in the area of digital media design; and • To enhance our pupils’ competency in digital media design, to arouse interest and allow them to keep abreast with technology advances and application.
Pull-Out-Program (POP) for High Ability Pupils in Jun and Nov 08
A School Cluster W4 project, Bt View Secondary together with Hua Yi Sec organized the POP for High Ability Pupils as enrichment to pupils contemplating design as a career. Part of the programme included partnering Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic in conducting a customized programme for the students.

Design Competition and Exhibition For Primary and Secondary Schools |
Now into its 9th year, we co-organized this event with Ngee Ann Polytechnic for the second time and this year we have a total of 49 entries from 10 primary schools and 122 entries from 11 secondary schools taking part in the competition. It was held at Ngee Ann Polytechnic on 18 July 08 and attended by approximately 300 over pupils.BVSS did well in the competition. Fathin Atikah bte Mas’ud won the Silver Award for her entry ‘Death Unlimited’. As for the Special Mention Awards; ‘The Environment’ by Thiagan s/o Narayanasamy and ‘School Robot’ by Tristan Lim You Jie won the Best in Graphic Design and Best in Multimedia respectively.
Advanced Elective Module (AEM) The AEM is aimed at providing exposure to the practice-oriented learning approach adopted in the polytechnics. It will also enhance students’ learning experiences and help them discover their strengths and interests.
