Introduction:

The BVSS Chinese Dance was established in 1987. It has a long history and over the past 24 years, it has attained significant achievements. Under the tutelage of a very experienced team of instructors, the team has clinched gold medals at the 2009 and 2011 SYF Central Judging for Chinese Dance.

The team meets for practice twice a week for 2 hours each, on Wednesdays and Fridays. In an event of upcoming performances or competitions, practices could be as frequent as three to four times a week. These practices are not only used to refine the dance items but also to build physical stamina in the dancers.

The dancers execute a repertoire of different dance styles - ranging from Traditional Chinese dance to Contemporary Chinese Dance. The team regularly performs during school-based events such as Chinese New Year, Youth Day and Speech Day. In addition, outings are also organized for dancers to watch dance performances by external organizations to build their repertoire of dance styles and techniques. 

Achievements/Awards:

• SYF Central Judging (Chinese Dance)  - Gold (2009, 2011)
• Performed at 2011 Singapore River Hong Bao during Chinese New Year
• 4 students were selected to perform at SYF Dance Fantasia & MOE-YOG Thanksgiving Ceremony (2010)
